Obituary for Roland Maurice Dionne

Roland was surrounded by a large and loving family:

His wife of 43 years, Sandra, and their children, Richard (Shawna),
Renée, Carol (Trevor), and Jennifer (Eric).
His siblings: John (Moira), Jeannine (Jean), Andrée (Lyle), Romeo,
Rita (Ervin), Françoise (Virgil), and Juliette (Stephen)
His 11 grandchildren: Candace (Tim), Cody (Kelsi), Chelsea,
Breanne, Danette, Kason, Paige, Ayden, Emit, Olexa, and Fara.
His 6 great grandchildren: Ashton, Aubrey, Karter, Blaire, Maci, and
Penelope.
His numerous nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his mother, Antoinette, father, Hector, sister,
Sister Pauline, and brother, Marcel.

Roland’s life was filled with adventure, fuelled by his passions. At a young age, he was very intrigued by anything mechanical, and sought a career as a Heavy Duty Mechanic. After he and Sandra married, they moved to Regina to create their family. In 1989, they relocated to Cambridge Bay, Nunavut. It was there that he was able to pursue his dream of becoming a pilot and purchased his Cessna. After living in the North for 17 years, he and Sandra bought an acreage just south of Meadow Lake, where he was able to chase yet another passion, growing an orchard.
The stories of his many adventures will be told for years to come by his family, brothers, sisters, and the many friends he shared them with.
