Claude was born in Scott, Sask. and lived on the family farm near Handel until the family moved to Goodsoil in 1937. He farmed and ranched along the Beaver River. He had a sawmill on his farm and in his earlier years worked the logging camps near Prince George, B.C. for the winters. He retired to Goodsoil in the 1980's.
