They both took on employment until retiring to the village of Dorintosh in 2007. It was from there on that Marlene's health deteriorated worse by the year, until her passing May 1, 2020 at the Meadow Lake Hospital.
She was predeceased by her parents and one brother-in-law Dennis Janzen and one nephew Waren Toews.
Left to mourn is her husband Desmond, of 50 years, son Marlon, sister Marie, brother Robert and numerous nieces and nephews.

Condolences to Desmond & Marlan from Wes & Theo Green.. Meadow Lake Cartage was always a place that I enjoyed stopping at on trip home from Meadow Lake. Always loved to snoop through sporting goods, pick up farm supplies with family members. Remember alsoMeadow Lake cartage hauling hay bales to be shipped to dry south cattleman.. Marlene was always that person there to help.
