Obituary for Norman Ludvigson

Norman was born on January 9, 1954 in Meadow Lake, the sixth child of Ernie and Viola Ludvigson. He was raised in the Morin Creek area and went to school at Rabbit Ridge School and Meadow Lake where his favorite activity was playing ball. After leaving school, he worked digging wells before briefly moving to BC to work at a sawmill. He returned to Meadow Lake and in 1973 started work at NorSask. In 1974, he married his life-long partner, Leslie. When land became available in Morin Creek in 1978, they jumped at the chance to buy. Now back home, surrounded by extended family, they settled in and raised their girls.

Norman loved being outdoors and spent many hours hunting, fishing, and trapping. He devoted his life to the farm and loved to drive to the fields to check cows, see how the hay was growing, and hopefully run into a neighbour so he could stop to visit. Winter meant feeding the cows, checking the water bowl, and getting through calving season. Like many others in the area, he also had a job outside the farm.

Norman worked 46 years at the NorSask Sawmill. He worked in different areas of the mill but was most respected for his ability to operate the Tanguay machine that unloaded the logging trucks to feed the mill.

Left to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 48 years Leslie; his daughters Jolene (Jason) and Jamie (Keith); his grandchildren Echo, Orion, Aurora, Rylan and Teagan; his siblings Robert (Linda), Joyce (Orville), Elaine (Leonard), and Debbie (Brian); sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by parents Ernie (1964) and Viola (2018); siblings Norma (2022), David (2021); friend and Uncle, Donald (1999); father-in-law George (1984) and mother-in-law Lila (2009); and brother-in-law Marvin (2020).
