Dearest Ed,
In life you were a husband for 54 years.
A good Father, Grandfather and friend.
And all who loved and knew you
felt your kindness without end.
You lived a life of fullness,
Played with Great Grandchildren when you had the chance.
You worked hard, but still took time
to talk and sing and dance.

And once a year, on April first
this game with our grown kids you'd play
to see who'd be first to tell the most believable fib,
laugh and say, "I got you, it's April Fools Day.
Life wasn't always pleasant,
You had your troubles too.
But even throughout your illness,
You, were always you.

God saw you getting tired
when a cure was not to be,
He closed His arms around you
and whispered, "Come to Me".
In tears we saw you struggle,
We watched you fade away,
our hearts were hurt and broken,
while you suffered day by day.

But when we saw you sleeping
so peaceful, free from pain,
we could not wish you back
to suffer that again.
Now as I sit in silence to read
"This Book, - so true and wise,"
I came across this passage in Luke 23:43
Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth,"
today you will be with Me in Paradise."
Signed with Love, From Katie,
Your Wife, and Friend.
