I was one of Ray's class mates in the ag-mech class of 69. I had the pleasure of his company on a daily basis at the college of agriculture for four consecutive years. I always admired Ray's dedication to class , friends and family.  Many times he helped us out of a snow bank, perhaps a late assignment or some other compromising situation. I had a phone call with Ray last fall at which time he talked of getting his strength back , perhaps going south again, about his family and what they were busy at. He was always committed to whatever his goals were. Joanne and myself express our deepest sympathy to Sharon and their family at this time of great loss.   We are very sorry we will not be able to attend the funeral as we are not home.  Jim and Joanne Hammond
